Janet Canady Obituary
Ellabell- Janet Elaine Crosby Canady, age 72 passed away Monday, October 2, 2023. Mrs. Canady was born in Biloxi, MS to the late Woodrow Crosby and Sarah Pearl Leggett Crosby Gregory. She was a school bus driver for the Bryan County Board of Education for over 25 years and was a member of Ellabell United Methodist Church. She enjoyed studying her Bible and was a very kind lady. Mrs. Janet enjoyed fishing and loved music. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Canady was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Canady and two brothers, Woodrow Crosby, Jr. and Rodney Crosby.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicki (Jeff) Murphy of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Keith (Cynthia) Stevens of Ellabell and Tracy (Staci) Stevens of Savannah; grandchildren, Brittany McDermott, Johnathan Stevens, Hailey Fortner, Morgan McAllister, Alexis Stevens and Taylor Rose;15 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and her dog, Ginger.
Visitation will be held 11 A.M. - 1 P.M. Friday, October 6, 2023 at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be 1 P.M. Friday, October 6, 2023 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Tyson officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery
