Obituary of Janet A. Crain
August 14, 1950 – October 27, 2024
Janet A. Crain. Age 73 of Taylor.
Beloved daughter of the late Rosalie. Dearest cousin of John, Cliff, Cathy and Gary. Also survived by numerous close friends.
Janet was an avid bowler. She also loved to travel and visited many countries. She was very active in her church and taught Catechism for 16 years.
Memorial contributions are appreciated to.
Janet was born and raised in River Rouge by a single mother, Rosalie. She and her mom had a very close relationship, since it was just the two of them for much of Janet's life. They enjoyed their time together and shared many fun trips to places like California and Hawaii. They especially loved Disney World.
Upon graduating from Our Lady of Lourdes High School, Janet got a job at Blue Cross Blue Shield where she worked for her entire career, over forty-one years. Janet liked to keep busy and was in a bowling league for over 50 years at Biddle Bowl in Wyandotte, where she made many friends and had a lot of great times.
Janet's faith was extremely important to her, she was always involved with her church. While she was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes, Janet taught catechism, helped with many activities and sang with the church choir. When the parish closed down, she joined St. Joseph's Church in Wyandotte where she immersed herself in lending a helping hand wherever she could. She was a Eucharistic Minister and helped with the altar servers. Janet was fortunate to have met many wonderful friends, some of whom became traveling companions. They went to the British Isles, Germany, Austria, Ireland and took a cruise up the Danube.
She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
