Jant Dalke, 83, Ashley, ND, died Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Ashley Medical Center. Janet's life will be celebrated June 18, 2026 by her family.

Janet Dalke was born to Gotthilf and Emma (Marzolf) Dalke on May 31,1942, on a farm northeast of Ashley and later moved to south of Lehr on a farm with her parents and family. In her teenage years she was often asked to help neighbors with household chores when another child was born to their family or other needs. In 1967 she moved to Ashley and worked at Ashley High School as a cook. In 1971 she worked at the Ashley Medical Center Dietary as a cook. In 1979 she started a part-time job as Avon representative for 40 years. In 1991 she worked at the Ashley Senior Center as a cook. Janet also helped with catering for Dinners, Banquets, Weddings, and was asked often by folks to make a roaster full of her specialty German Hot Potato Salad. Other part time cleaning jobs were Fey's Green Iron, Hometown Credit Union, and Dakota Family Restaurant. Janet was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, served on the Council, enjoyed quilting with the church ladies, also visiting, and playing cards with family and friends. Her Heritage was of German Russian descend.

She is survived by sisters Esther Krueger of Ashley, Lavina Garcia, Grass Valley, California and Marvel (Sidney) Gross of Ashley; Stepsister Patricia Walz, of Benson, Arizona; and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Gotthilf and Emma Dalke, infant sister Jeanette, Mavis and Elmer Widmer, her twin sister Janice and Lee Steinmetz, Brother in Laws Elmer Krueger, Lester Haas, Rick Garcia, Stepmother Eleanor Walz, stepsister Karen Walz.

Services are in care of Carlsen-Lien Chapel, Ashley.
