Janet L. Delgado
April 4, 1948 ~ November 27, 2024
Bloomingburg, NY
It is with great sadness that Janet Delgado left our world on November 27, 2024. Janet was 76 years old. She resided with her surviving and loving spouse Michael Delgado in Bloomingburg, New York.
To say that Janet was an incredible woman, spouse, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and Realtor is an understatement. Janet was born in Rockville Centre, NY where she was raised by two very loving parents, Paul and Pauline Bergmann who were married for over 50 years. She had three wonderful sisters, Paulette, Alice, Wendy and a loving brother Paul, Jr.
She grew up in Elmont, NY, attended Sewanhaka High School and started her life as a beautician. She relocated to Middletown, NY in the 70's, pursuing her career, but her life and drive centered around an immeasurable love at the birth of her son David Matullo and she began side jobs, working at Barbara Moss, Lloyd's, waitressing and more constantly seeking a career and a way to enhance their means and bring every possible joy into her son's life.
Janet then, in 1988, contemplated Real Estate and studied and trained hard to learn the Industry where she met her husband Michael at Starting Time Realty in Goshen. Janet and Michael worked together for 20 years at RJ Smith Realty, Century 21 and eventually RE/MAX. Michael branched off into the mortgage industry while Janet for almost 30 years hung her license as an Associate Broker at RE/MAX Benchmark Realty in New Windsor.
Janet had all the qualities to mold any legendary Realtor. She was kind, caring, empathetic, strong, Intelligent and used all these resources to obtain numerous National Association of Realtor certifications, win more awards than can be mentioned here in totality, from OCAR, Century 21, and at RE/MAX triumphed with years of the 100% Club, Platinum Club, the Darren McCarey Award and pinnacled with a RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement Award. But Janet considered her greatest success and life reflected in the joy and love she could bring to everyone around her. All her past clients loved and respected Janet as a consummate professional and friend.
Michael and her shared 36 loving years together. As a mother, her pride in whom David had become as a man, husband and parent filled her heart with boundless light. She beamed at the chance to brag about what a great daughter-in-law she had, and as a grandmother, was unbelievably proud watching her granddaughter become an amazing young woman. Janet embraced and savored looking upon her siblings, her nieces and nephews and smiled at the ripples of love her parents had created way back in Elmont, NY.
Janet is survived by her husband Michael Delgado, her son and daughter-in-law David and Cece Matullo, granddaughter Alyssa Matullo, sisters Paulette DiGiralomo, Wendy Fehlauer, and her brother Paul Bergmann, the other in-laws and numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces. and it would be remiss not to mention the countless friends, like Joanne Timperio, Donna Brunell and her Team, Dan Clarino and her RE/MAX family and other Realtors. Her parents and sister Alice have greeted her in heaven.
Janet's greatest legacy will always be the love and light that shined in her heart. The smile that was forever there despite any challenges that faced her. People called her their Butterfly. She was the Hummingbird that will be forever missed but never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on December 11th 2024 from 4PM to 7PM at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Avenue
Newburgh, NY 12550. 845-561-8300. If you wish to do something, Janet would want you to give to any charity that would fill your heart with pride and happiness.
