Janet Sue Drifmeyer, age 79, of Brookville, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 28, 2025, at her residence in Brookville. Born May 15, 1945 in Brookville, IN, she was the daughter of the late Elmer & Elsie (King) Mergenthal-Wilson.
She worked a variety of jobs in her lifetime, but the most important to her was helping care for her grandchildren. In her leisure time she enjoyed quilting, traveling, was an avid reader, and most of all, she treasured spending time with her loved ones. To all of those whose paths she crossed, she was known to be kind, sweet, and was always there to provide loving guidance. She will be deeply missed by all of those whose lives she touched.
Janet (Sue) is survived by her four children, Kim Krauthheim of Canonsburg, PA, Angela Kinman of Batesville, IN, Sherri Weston of Sunman, IN and Debra Wiggins of Midway, GA; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn E. Thalheimer of Liberty, IN, three brothers, Ed Mergenthal of Harrison, OH, Donald Mergenthal of South Africa, and Bob Mergenthal of Brookville, IN.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt, Minnie King, and her granddaughter, Bethany Drifmeyer.
Visitation is from 10:00-11:00 am with the memorial service immediately following from 11:00-12:00 pm on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville, IN 47012.
