Janet Eish

ROCK HILL – Janet (Gearin) Eish, 89, passed peacefully February 17, 2026, at the Wayne T Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Gerald (Jerry) Eish.

Janet was born on August 13, 1936 in Salineville, Ohio, to the late Lloyd and Louise (Thomas) Gearin. She is survived by her sister Betty (Tootsie) Dean, her sister-in-law Ida Mae Eish, and her dear friend Keith Duncan, all of Salineville, Ohio. "Aunt Janet" also leaves behind many nieces and nephews including those from her 7 brothers and 1 sister, all who predeceased her.

Janet graduated high school in Salineville, Ohio in 1954. Jerry and Janet married September 3, 1955 and were blessed with 6 children: Rita (Steve) Hoyt of Columbus, Ohio; Ray (Laura) Eish of York, S.C.; Carolyn E. Wray of Clover, S.C., Connie Morgan (Doug) Forbes of Little River, SC.; Jim (Karen) Eish of West Columbia, S.C.; Kim (David, deceased) Tiedemann of Cassatt, S.C.; 8 grandchildren: Clint (Kelsy) Morgan, Jeremy (Megan) Wray, Emma Morgan, Brandon Eish, Aaron Eish, Gabrielle (Brandon) Oakes, Kevin (Cydney) Eish, Mary Anna Eish; 4 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

A funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 pm Friday, March 6, at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Rock Hill with Father John P. Giuliani CO officiating. The family will greet friends at the church after the service.

The family expresses deep gratitude for the competent, caring staff at the Patrick Hospice House.
