Janet Marie Empting

Janet Marie Empting (age 82) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 18, 2024. She was born on August 13,1942 to Alfred and Frances Jost. Janet was a happy go-lucky lady, easy to talk to, because she did all the talking. She spent most of her life living on the west end of St. Paul and was a long-time St. Francis de Sales parishioner. Janet worked at the 3M factory for over 30 years. She was an awesome mother, amazing grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin, and a friend to many. She was so proud of her grandchildren and rarely missed any of their events. 

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Frances Jost; and brother Robert Jost.

She is survived by her son Ron (Pam) Empting; grandkids, Jake (Nicole), and Nicki; sister Kathy (Don); nieces Chrisy and Molly; nephews Troy, Brad and Spencer.

Special thanks to the amazing staff at Harmony Gardens and United Hospital, her caregiver Lori Koren, and Troy and Chrisy who have been so supportive. 

There will be a visitation from 5PM - 8PM on August 26 at Kessler Maguire Funeral Home (640 W. 7th St., St. Paul, MN 55201). A service will be held at Church of St. Peter (2600 Margaret St N, North St Paul, MN 55109) on August 27 at 11 AM with a visitation 1 hour prior.
