Obituary published on Legacy.com by Martin Funeral & Cremation - Waldron on Jul. 10, 2024.
Janet Denise Ferguson, age 63, of
Waldron, Arkansas passed from this life on July 8, 2024 in her home surrounded by loved ones. Janet was born on January 1, 1961 in New Mexico to Buddy and Thelma (Coyle) Lawrence.
Janet absolutely loved people and enjoyed visiting with family and friends as often as possible. She always had outstretched arms, a big warm hug, and a huge smile ready to greet anyone she saw. She loved animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed doing word search puzzles, coloring, playing Bingo, and doing crafts. She was a big fan of Western movies, The Andy Griffith Show, Heartland, and loved listening to music. On Sundays, she loved going to church at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church #3.
In 2017, she began living at Dalton's Place Assisted Living facility. She loved being involved in activities, getting her nails done, hoarding her winnings from Bingo, and walking the halls to watch for visitors. It was often joked that she was the greeting committee for the facility.
Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas "Junior" Ferguson, her father, Buddy Lawrence, and baby sister Tamara Lawrence.
She is survived by her mother, Thelma Lawrence (known to most as "Nana") of
Waldron, Arkansas, brother Kevin Lawrence of
Waldron, Arkansas, daughter Jennifer Broomfield and husband Matthew of
Waldron, Arkansas, son Brandon Mack and wife Kristen of
Waldron, Arkansas, Uncle Horace Lawrence and wife Latresa of Oden, Arkansas. Grandma Jan was so proud of and adored her grandchildren Kylie Broomfield, Jacob Broomfield, and Owen Mack. She will be greatly missed and remembered by an abundance of family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers include Dalton's Place Assisted Living Staff and her church family at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church #3.
A short graveside ceremony will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist #3 Cemetery on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 9 a.m., with Brother Ray Jett officiating.
The family would like to extend their appreciation for the wonderful staff at Dalton's Place Assisted Living for the care provided during her time with them and their continued concern and care after she moved back home. Additional gratitude to Elite Hospice for their exceptional care, specifically her nurse Jackie. We are incredibly thankful for her special friend Lexee, who stayed by her side and gave her the most compassionate care during her last days with us. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to her amazing care providers, specifically Sherilyn Bennett and Ashley Crow, for always providing her thorough and devoted care.
