Janet Grubaugh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rodenberger-Gray Funeral Home - Napoleon on Dec. 21, 2025.
Janet Kay Grubaugh, 87, of Archbold (formerly of Napoleon) went home to the Lord on Friday, December 19, 2025 after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Napoleon, Ohio on July 25, 1938 to the late Dot and Pete (Shafer) Shartzer. On March 28, 1958, Janet married Leroy Grubaugh who survives. She spent nearly her whole life in Napoleon until eight years ago when she and Leroy moved into Independent Living at Fairlawn in Archbold. They also spent many years as snowbirds in Leesburg, FL.

Janet loved quilt making, cooking, crafting, and traveling especially to Holmes County Ohio, and anything Christmas related. Her greatest pleasure came from having her family close for get-togethers, and getting many hugs from her "adopted" grandchildren at Napoleon Nazarene Church.

Janet is survived by her husband Leroy, daughter Lisa (Solomon) Welch of Pettisville, son-in-law Doug (Sara) Bullock of Napoleon; granddaughters Elizabeth Bullock of Napoleon and Jenna (Lane) Grubaugh of Liberty Center; grandson Noah Bullock of Napoleon; great grandchildren, Gavin, Tristan, Connor, Hannah, and Ian Grubaugh, all of Liberty Center, Ohio and Ethan Randall of Perrysburg and Emma (Alan) Anthony of Scottsburg IN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons Robert Lee, Marc Leroy, and Michael Todd Grubaugh, and daughter Anne Louise Bullock; grandchildren Sarah Randall and Matthew Grubaugh, and sister, Joan Holmes.

There will be a brief graveside service at Forest Hill Cemetery in Napoleon, Ohio on Tuesday Dec 23, 2025 at 2pm, casual dress requested. A celebration of life is being planned for January 2026 to be held at Napoleon Nazarene Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Napoleon Nazarene Church, or the Fairlawn Retirement Community. Online condolences may be shared with the family at rodemberngergray.com
