Janet Ann Hardin

Janet Ann Hardin bravely fought Multiple Myeloma until her passing on Jan 24, 2024. Born on August 17, 1955, in Tipton, Indiana, to Oral "Ray" and Ruby Smith, she grew up with siblings Karen, Joe, and Ed. Janet earned a nursing degree and later served as the Secretary for the University of Florida International Center. She cherished this role, often saying, "The world came to her desk every day." Janet enjoyed tending to plants, painting, reading, and solving puzzles. Her cat Gingy and the simple joy of rocking in her chair brought her comfort. She had a keen eye for transforming items into something wonderful. Janet found peace in both distant travels and quiet moments by the beach. Preceded in death by parents Ruby and Ray, brother Joe, and sister Karen, she is survived by daughters Emilee and Ashlee of Gainesville, FL, sister Pat (Joe) of North Salem, IN, nieces Anita and Gina, nephew Dustin, and brother Ed (Anita) of Okeechobee, FL. Janet's deep love for Jesus, her positive outlook on people, and her ability to see the best in them were constants in her life. Memorial Services are pending.
