Janet Arwood Harp

Janet Arwood Harp went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 2,2026. She was surrounded by her daughters at Park West Hospital. She was unwavering in her love for the Lord and she instilled those Christian values to her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Kingston, Tennessee. She enjoyed attending Young At Heart at her church.

Being the oldest of eight siblings, she had the tenacity and resilience of a strong woman. She worked in the Chenille Mill, making bedspreads, she owned her own beauty shop and her own dress shop. She had a successful business selling rugs at the Sweetwater Flea Market.

Janet is proceeded in death by her husband Wayne Harp; her brothers: Larry and Pat Arwood; her sisters: Betty Faye Arwood, Kathy Arwood Burdett, and Yvonne Arwood Jenkins; her parents: Iva Lee Arwood and James Reuben Arwood.

She is survived by her daughters: Vivian Lovin Harris (Rob) and Mikki Lovin Hester (Matt); Stepson, Jerry Harp (Gail). Grandchildren: Nathan Harris (Martha), Janet Carraway (Chris), Ben Harris (Michaella), Lindsay Ray (Andrew), and Ross Hester (Michelle). Great-Grandchildren: Hannah, Molly, Henry, Sam, Sabrina, and Alex Harris; Jack and Jed Carraway, and Hudson Ray. Great-great-granddaughter: Posie Harris. Step-grandchildren: Casey Harp Kirlin (Eric) and daughter Kayla, Brady Harp (Allison) and children: Noah, Abby, and Emma. She is also survived by her sister: Carolyn Seymour and brother, Jimmy Arwood (Linda).

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 9th at Kyker Funeral Homes in Sweetwater from 1PM-2PM. Funeral service to follow at 2PM. Pastor Larry Arwood will officiate. Graveside service will immediately follow at Sweetwater Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a donation could be made in her honor to:
