Janet Lynne Haslar, 86 of Carmel, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Janet was born April 5, 1939 in Massillon, OH to the late Norris and Lois Broomall. She most recently worked as an administrative assistant for an ophthalmologist.
Jan was a kind-hearted and creative individual. She was a true artist and enjoyed making ceramics, sewing and crafting throughout her life. While a resident at The Barrington, she mastered several mediums, including watercolor and acrylic painting, sketching, and basket making. Her neighbors and friends could often find her in the art room. She enjoyed making art for her family and sharing her skills with other residents.
Private services will be held Tuesday, April 22 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel. Entombment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Park.
Jan was the widow of Larry Haslar. She is survived by her children, Scott (Katy) Haslar and Lori Dille; grandchildren, Stephanie (Al) Huggins, Matt (Stephanie) Dille, Matthew Lapadat-Haslar and Madi (Jesse) Rush; great grandchildren, Lance Dille, Avery and Asa Huggins, Carter, Stella and Theo Rush.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s.
