Janet E. Hetzel

Elkhorn, WI - Janet E. Hetzel age 83 of Elkhorn, WI died on July 2, 2025, at Lakeland Heath Care center. Janet was born on May 27, 1942, in Chicago (Berwyn), IL; daughter of the late Joseph and Edith (Kopecky) Rozmarin. Janet was a 1960 graduate of Williams Bay High School where she was Salutatorian of the class. Janet was married to Kenneth O. Stopple in August of 1963; the two of them raised their family together until the time of his passing in July of 1989. In February of 1997 Janet married John "Jake" Hetzel Sr. and enjoyed 24 years of marriage until the time of his passing in August of 2021. Janet enjoyed traveling, gambling, spending winters in Nevada, and knitting Afghans for her grandchildren when they were born. She also enjoyed collecting decorative vases and bird houses to add her touch of home to her surroundings. Janet had an admiration for butterflies, and made it known to those around her. Above all, she had a great love for her family, and all of her grandchildren. Janet is preceded in death by her parents; Joseph and Edith; and her husbands; Kenneth and Jake. She is survived by her sons; Kenneth (Peggy) Stopple, Donald Stopple; stepchildren; Allison (Dr. David Durham) Hetzel, John Hetzel Jr., Chad (Michelle) Hetzel; grandchildren; Rachael (Kevin) Coenen, Joseph Stopple, Jonathan Stopple; step grandchildren; Oliver Hetzel, Sam Hetzel, George Hetzel, Hollister Hetzel, Angus Durham, Wilhelmina Durham; great-grandchildren; Jack Coenen, Logan Coenen; sister; Nancy (Thomas) Farrell; and nieces and nephews; Lisa, Susie, Tom, & Michael (Julia) Farrell, and Denise (Charlie) Giesz.

A Memorial Service will take place for Janet on Tuesday July 15, 2025, at 11:00AM at Haase-Lockwood & Associates Funeral Home and Crematory 730 N. Wisconsin Street Elkhorn, WI. Visitation will take place before the service beginning at 10:00AM. Janet will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memory Gardens following the memorial service.
