On November 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, Janet Jane Holmes departed this world at the age at 78. Janet was born to Gus and Agnes Neufeld of Caldwell, KS and was raised in Medford, OK.
Janet worked as a teller at Union Bank in OKC (the prettiest girl at the bank) where she met her husband, Bob. They were married on Oct. 24, 1978, and had 47 wonderful years together.
Janet continued to work in banking and accounting services until she retired. She was an active member of Crossings Community Church for many years. The most important things in her life were her Christian faith and her beloved family.
Janet had one daughter, Julie, who was her best friend. Janet spent her retirement taking care of her two granddaughters, Samantha and Alison, who were her pride and joy.
Janet is preceded in death by her mom and dad, Gus and Agnes Neufeld; her two siblings, Garvan Neufeld and Estileen Unruh; and her pets, Willie, Brownie, and Angel.
Janet is survived by her loving husband, Bob, who took great care of her at the end of her life. She also leaves behind one daughter, Julie Chapel; her son-in-law, Jesse; two grandchildren, Samantha and Alison; her brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Marcia Neufeld; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Late in life, Janet endured Alzheimer’s disease, which lasted for 6+ years. Her family is grateful for the loving care she received from her neighbors, Lajuana and Dyamond Morgan, Mercy Home Health (Vanessa), and Mercy Hospice (Pam, Cindy, & Helen).
Please come and celebrate Janet’s life with us at Crossing Community Church, 14600 N. Portland, on Friday, Nov. 21 at 11 am. Family will be receiving friends and family at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Janet’s name to OKC Youth for Christ.
