Janet Berniece Hooker

HOOKER, Janet Berniece (Yates) – of Davison, MI, age 83, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County, in Janet's memory.
Janet was born in Grand Blanc, MI on July 16, 1941, daughter of the late Journey and Anna (Dewinter) Yates. After graduating Grand Blanc High School, Janet's professional journey began at General Motors, where her dedication and hard work shone brightly. Alongside her husband, Bill, Janet co-owned and operated Omni Electric in Burton, MI, where their partnership and business acumen were evident to all who knew them. While Janet's professional achievements were significant, her true passion lay in her culinary talents. An avid cake baker and candy maker, Janet brought joy to countless lives with her delectable creations. Her homemade treats were not just desserts; they were expressions of love and care, making every celebration a little sweeter. Janet leaves behind a legacy of love, delicious memories, and a community that will deeply miss her presence.
Janet is survived by 4 children, Dawn (Steven) Juarez, Penny (Bob) Jones, Jessica (Aaron) Addison and Tiffany Hooker; 6 grandchildren, Bobby Jones, Matthew (Sara) Jones, Jeff Jones, Jaimie (Brent) Collins, Emily (Bryan) Lutz and Jana (Matt) Orzel; 12 great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Journey and Anna Yates; husband, Bill Hooker; son, Jack Hooker and several siblings.
