Janet Marie Howell

Janet Marie Davis Howell, 71, a resident of Elkins, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Davis Medical Center in Elkins.

Janet was born Friday, March 19, 1954, in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late Willard Howard Davis and Eleanor Marie Shroyer Davis.

Left to cherish her memory are two children, Patricia Marie Bennett of Norton, Christina Ann Bennett of Independence, granddaughter, Hailey Marie Nestor of Morgantown, siblings, Sharon K. White and husband Jerry of Elkins, Howard "Gene" Davis of Beverly, nephew, Tim White, nieces, Lisa White, and Cindy Hardy, Susan Jenkins, whom she loved like a daughter, her church family that meant the world to her, special friends and neighbors, Becky and Jim Fletcher, fur babies, Missie, George, Little One, and the father of her children, Richard Bennett of Beverly.

Preceding her in death besides her parents was one sister-in-law, Connie Leary Davis.

Janet attended the one room school house in Glady and was a graduate of Elkins High School Class of 1972. She had been employed at the Beta Shoe Company, Kitzmiller Lumber Company, and retired from the WV Department of Highways as a switchboard operator after twenty plus years of service. Janet enjoyed cross stitching, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and watching the wildlife, especially, birds. One of her favorite apps on her phone was one that could identify different birds based on the sound they make. She loved going out to eat with family and friends; after every appointment she had, she'd ask, " where are we going for lunch". Janet was Pentecostal by faith and a member of Rivers of Living Waters Ministries.

Janet's request for cremation will be honored. A memorial service will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 5 pm until 7 pm.
