Janet DeLoach Jackson, a resident of Valdosta, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Valdosta, GA on March 13, 1946.
Janet was a loving mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother who shared her faith and love with her family. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, such as spending time with her beloved cats, Sunshine and Smudge, going to the beach, gardening, and watching Westerns. Her smile was infectious, and she was cherished by all who knew her.
After a dedicated career as a dental hygienist for over 44 years, Janet found joy in retirement through fishing, traveling, and being with her family and friends. She had a special bond with her twin sister, Jane, and leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories.
Janet was preceded in death by her father, Herman DeLoach; mother, Vivian DeLoach ; sister, Sandy Deloach Griffis (Jimmy); and the father of her children, Donald Lee Jackson. She is survived by her sister, Jane DeLoach Key (Jeff) of Milner, GA; sons, Brett Alan Jackson (Carol) of Moultrie, GA and Stephen Paul Jackson of Valdosta; grandchildren Zachary and Alina Jackson, both of Ohio; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; lifelong friend Ray Greene of Lake Park, GA; brothers-in-law Jimmy Griffis of Lake Park, GA and Ricky Jackson (Brenda) of Moultrie, GA; nephews Craig Lyons of McDonough, GA, Chris Griffis of Crestview, FL, and Keith Jackson of Moultrie, GA; and niece Ashley Bass of California.
A graveside service will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Online condolences can be shared at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
