Janet Kay Keck, age 80 years of Niles, Michigan; mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother died on Friday, February 9, 2024 at her home of natural causes.
She was born on July 30, 1943 in Niles to Max and Marian (Bush) Storey, and was graduated from Niles High School. She was a first-day employee at the – then – new Meijer supercenter on Grape Road in Mishawaka, Indiana, continuing her employment there until her retirement in 2005. She has always lived in Niles.
Janet was a member of the Pokagon (Michigan) United Methodist Church. At home she enjoyed reading a variety of novels, and watching television shows. She and her husband enjoyed dining at restaurants throughout the area, and were always willing to try the most recent opening. They also attended every family celebration, and were great supporters of the school activities of their children and grandchildren.
On July 4, 1964 in Niles, she married Tracy G. Keck with whom she celebrated the remarkable Fifty-sixth anniversary of their wedding prior to his death on March 2, 2021. She was also sadly preceded in death just a few months ago by a son, Tracy G. Keck, Jr. on August 6, 2023; and by her mother, Marian P. Yentes, and father, Max Storey.
Surviving family includes her son, Jason H. (& Jennifer) Keck of Niles; grandchildren Tracy G (& Brittany) Keck III, Zachary Keck, and Ethan Keck; and a great-granddaughter, Juniper.
