Janet K. Kiesling, 61, Monticello, formerly of Logansport, passed away Wednesday morning, August 21, 2024, in White Oak Health Campus, Monticello.
Born January 11, 1963, in Eldorado, IL, she was the daughter of the late Charles Henry and Mary Mildred (Combs) Merritt.
On October 22, 2018, in Logansport, she was married to Broc Kiesling. He preceded her in death June 5, 2019.
Janet had worked in production at Cal-Comp. For many years, she put her culinary skills to work as a cook at the Eagles Aerie, The Elks Lodge, and the Shrine Club.
Janet and Broc were quite the pair - they shared the same interests: having a good drink, fishing, mushroom hunting, camping. Janet enjoyed the simple things in life that are often take for granted. To her, there was nothing better than spending time with her family watching shows.
Surviving are two children, Kyle (Lindsey) Hagene, Chalmers, Indiana, and Rebecca (Josh) Rife, Winamac, Indiana; one stepdaughter, Shae (Rodney) Lobenthal; grandchildren, Noah and Dylan; one brother, Charles (Donna) Merritt, Coal City, Illinois; one niece, Michelle (John) Midyette; one Larry "Junior" (Connie) Cates and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son, Delton Leroy McVay III; sisters, Margaret Cates, Helen Cates and Sharon Merritt, and brother, Jerry Merritt.
Private burial will be in Davis Cemetery, near Burnettsville.
