Janet Kay Lindquist, 71, of Moorhead, MN, formerly of Thief River Falls, MN, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Janet was born March 16, 1952, to Lloyd and Ethel (Carpenter) Alnes. She grew up and attended school in Mahnomen, MN. Her parents owned and operated Lloyd’s Hartz Grocery and Janet learned many lessons helping her parents when she wasn’t in school. They enjoyed the summers at their lake home on South Twin Lake near Waubun, MN. After graduating from Mahnomen High School in 1970, Janet moved to Thief River Falls and began her career at Hartz Foods. On September 10, 1977, Janet married Kenneth Lindquist at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. After Hartz closed, she enjoyed 10 years at Digi-Key Corporation. Over the years, Janet enjoyed traveling, she talked about the many trips to see family in San Diego, CA, and to Hawaii. She loved her dogs, spending time at their lake cabin, and especially time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Janet is survived by her husband, Ken; daughters, Wendy (Adam) Nordin, Jenny Lindquist; grandchildren, Talan and Eli Lindquist, Wylie Nordin, Damien Abrahamsen; and brother, David Alnes.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN.
Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.
