NORTH LIMA-Janet Marie (McCambridge) Lyda, 73, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at the home of her daughter.
Janet was born Oct. 20, 1952, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Vincent and Nan McCambridge. She was a proud graduate of Springfield Local High School, Class of 1971. That same year, she married her high-school sweetheart and the love of her life, Thaddeus "Ted" Lyda. Together they shared 51 wonderful years of marriage until Ted's passing. Janet was many things to many people-a· devoted wife, lov1ng mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, caring sister, aunt, and loyal friend. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Thaddeus "Trey" John (Annette) Lyda III and Glenn (Kelley) Lyda; daughters, Jody (Jon) Palatinus and Lynn (Adam) Richter; grandchildren, Rachel Lyda, Julia (Zoran) Raduka, Thaddeus "Thad" Lyda IV, Emily Lyda, Glenn Ryan (Madelyn) Lyda, Aaron Lyda, Mark Lyda, Jake (Kate) Palatinus, Justin Palatinus, Reilly (Megan) Palatinus, Jack Palatinus, Dannah Palatinus, Jury Palatinus, Cole Richter and Liam Richter; and great-grandchildren, Juniper and Emrys Raduka, Beau Lyda, Ashelin, Spencer, Charlotte, Jackson, Henry and Samuel Palatinus, with another blessing soon to arrive. She also leaves behind her sisters, Cathy Stumpf, Ginny Puz, Sally (Rusty) Persing, Louise (Neal) London, Linda Walker and Nancy (Mike) Persing; brothers, Marty McCambridge and John McCambridge; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ted, and brother Donny McCambridge.
Funeral services will be held at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market St., North Lima, on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 6:00 pm.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the time of the service.

She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, whether through her warm smile or her thoughtful words of encouragement. She cherished time spent with her family, especially holiday gatherings and birthdays. Janet also enjoyed knitting, often creating cozy blankets and scarves for her children and grandchildren, each stitch woven with love. She found joy in reading, cheering on her grandchildren at their many activities, collecting carousel horses, and spending peaceful days at the lake. Some of her happiest moments were watching the sun rise over the water with a cup of coffee in hand - a simple joy that reflected her appreciation for life's quiet beauty. Her legacy is one of devotion, kindness, and joy - qualities that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
