New Springfield-Judith Ann Delvaux, 71, passed away very peacefully on December 28, at Mercy Health Compassus Hospice. She was born September 28, 1954, in Youngstown, the daughter of Howard Wilbur Grubb and Roberta Bilger Grubb. Judy was a 1972 graduate of Springfield Local High School and attended Youngstown State University. After raising her family, she attended YSU and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing graduating in 1993. She worked at St. Elizabeth downtown for several years and then took a position at Youngstown Developmental Center working with the Developmentally Disabled. She was a very caring and passionate nurse who even after retirement would check on her former clients. Judy especially enjoyed attending the St. Elizabeth Nursing dinners and gatherings with her classmates. She especially was proud of the great friendships she made at St. E's and especially at YDC and the great people she met at both and their friendships which endured to this day. Judy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Tom, who she met in high school, and her two children, Alicia (Nevin) Steindam of Lakewood, Ohio, and Brian (Jessica Richardson) Delvaux of New Middletown, Ohio. She is also survived by her wonderful grandchildren, Arden Harper Steindam and William Reece Steindam. She was preceded in death by her parents, her younger brother Jeffrey Alan Grubb who passed away this previous August 12, 2025. She is survived by her older brother Dale James Grubb, his wife Janet, Jeff's wife Cathy in Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews. She was very proud of the accomplishments of her family and how they lived their lives and the fine people they became. She was a lover of all animals and called a crazy cat lady by many people. She was noted for feeding feral cat colonies in several places and was also passionate about the flowers she planted around her home. Judy especially enjoyed traveling and was quite good at arranging trips. Judy and Tom made many yearly trips to Nassau, Cancun, and Mexico City generally visiting archaeology sites and rural areas. The family would like to thank the many people who cared for Judy the last two years after Judy was diagnosed with leukemia. Drs. Graham and Verma and the staff at the Blood & Cancer Center, Drs. Sobeck & Jain and staff at the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer unit, & especially the nurses at the infusion center at St. E's downtown. A special thank you goes to the Boardman Mercy Health ICU team where she spent her final hospital visit and received great care from the doctors and nurses. Thanks also to the staff at Mercy Health Compassus Hospice who cared for Judy her last days. Judy was a friend to many people throughout her life and always enjoyed meeting and talking to new people. Her greatest joy was her family and spending time at DeRhodes Lake with her family and her special friends MaryAnn and Kathy and all the Lake regulars. The last few months Judy endured a great deal of discomfort and handled it all with dignity and an appreciation of her caregivers and especially family and friends. A time of gathering will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St.,
