Janet Lyons Obituary
East Bend – Janet Carriker Lyons, 74, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Janet was born October 16, 1949 in Stanly County to the late Marvin and Gladys Dick Carriker. Janet was a loving wife, mother and granny. She had a big heart and was always willing to help anyone. She was a devout Christian and was a member of Bible Fellowship Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Louise Henry. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Darrell Wayne Lyons; sons, Curtis (Beverly) Lyons, Michael (Julie) Lyons; grandchildren, Cameron (Maryssa Wise) Lyons, Kelly Lyons, Jenna Lyons; sister Sue Longinotti; brothers, Samuel (Geraldine) Carriker and David Carriker. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Gentry Family Chapel in East Bend by Pastor L.C. Taylor. Burial will follow at Forbush Friends Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in East Bend. Memorials can be made at Mountain Valley Hospice, 243 N. Lee Avenue, Yadkinville, NC 27055. Gentry Family Funeral Service in East Bend is serving the Lyons family. Online condolences can be made at www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
