Janet Graves McDaniel, 90, Sandusky, being absent from her earthly body, took her wings and entered into the presence of God, on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Janet was born in Sandusky to the late Fulton and Clara (Bryant) Graves, and graduated from Sandusky High School and furthered her education in the Culinary School of Arts in Columbus, OH.
She was employed from an early age by several doctor's offices, food service, Erie County Community Action Center, Providence Hospital and N&W Railroad.
Janet enjoyed bowling, puzzles, making quilts, drawing, crocheting, exercising, watching the Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, Jeopardy, and scratching her hair.
She was destined to be a child of God, serving faithfully in Providence Baptist, The River, Emmanuel Temple, and Kingdom Life Deliverance Church, under the pastorship of her daughter, Sheila. Janet played a very important part in the ministries of five of her children being, Evangelist, Prophets, Elders, and Ministers.
Affectionately known as Grannie or our Other Sister, she left to cherish her memories, her daughters, Lynn Graves, Sondra Forney, Cheryl Forney, Lisa (Randy) Dorsey, Sheila Graves, and Dawn Forney; sons, Jerry Forney and Brian (Sandy) Forney; many grandchildren; and her last surviving sister, Margery (Howard) Anderson; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary McDaniel; brothers, Fulton (Betty) Graves Jr., David Graves, Donald (June) Graves Sr., Larry Graves, and Richard Graves; sisters, Joyce (Marvin) Hill, Barbara Graves, and Lois (Evans) Belle; great-great-grandson, Chance Forney.
Friends may call Friday, March 14 from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon in Trinity United Methodist Church, 214 E. Jefferson St., Sandusky. Entombment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
