Janet Sue Potts, 80, of Marietta, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
Janet was born July 26, 1945 in Glouster, Ohio to Hershel Rutter.
She graduated from Trimble High School and attended Hocking College where she received her associate’s degree. Janet spent her entire career taking care of other people. She loved to garden and spend time with her kids and grandkids.
She was married to Richard Potts for over 40 years before his passing. Together, they enjoyed traveling to nursing homes and churches to sing karaoke.
Janet will be deeply missed by her children Robert Potts, Gerald Potts, Charles (Tracey) Potts, Liz (Rocky) Cremeans, Jamie Potts, Laura Potts, Michael (Wendy) Potts and John Potts; 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband Richard Potts and grandson Daren Putnam and great grandsons Royce Mayle and Spencer Potts; and great granddaughter Mackenzie Potts.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 3rd at noon at Mount Hermon Cemetery in Amesville. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
