Janet Powers Obituary
Somerville, TN: Janet Carol Powell Powers, age 69, passed away at her home Friday evening May 24, 2024, in Somerville.
She was born in Memphis, September 25, 1954, the daughter of Robbie Bridges Powell and the late Robert Neal Powell. She grew up in Memphis and was a 1972 graduate of Frayser High School. She worked for the State of Tennessee for thirty-five years in various positions.
She married Alvin Claude Powers, August 18,1982 and they made their home in Somerville. She enjoyed crossword puzzles. She loved animals and leaves behind her beloved cats, Xena and Jack.
She is survived by her husband Alvin Claude Powers, mother Robbie Bridges Powell of Memphis and two sisters: Pamela Hensley of Henderson and Sharon Williams of Memphis. She was preceded in death by her father, her maternal grandparents Elbert and Mae Bridges and paternal grandparents Hubert and Eula Powell.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel in Henderson from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM Sunday afternoon, May 26, 2024.
