Janet Ruth Rauch

1935 - 2023

On Saturday, March 4, 2023, Janet Ruth Rauch, of Deep River, Iowa, passed away at the age of 87. Janet was born on Nov. 14, 1935, in Fairfield, Iowa, to Bob and Betty Pierce. She married Cecil Rauch in 1950. They raised four children, Robert, Shelby, Stephen and Bruce. Janet is survived by Bob, Stephen, Sarah, Steve, Timothy, Trudy, Jessica, Carl, Amy and Adam; many great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Janet had a passion for cooking. Everybody loved her world famous cinnamon rolls. You never left hungry and every butter dish was a hidden treasure. You never knew what you were going to come across. She worked hard all of her life and stayed active in the community. She wrote for the Deep River news. Janet took care of Donna Fisk for many years and enjoyed cooking and feeding everyone. Janet and Cecil Fostered many children over the years: Julie, Jimmy, Tony and Tammy, just to name a few. In lieu of flowers, Janet has requested donations towards her memorial fund.
