She worked in healthcare for 20 years, eventually owning her own practice, before joining Hazelwood school district where she continued working as an early childhood education specialist until her retirement in 2017.
In 2011, Janet was elected as Alderman for Ward 3 for the Edwardsville City Council. Janet was passionate about her community and enjoyed advocating for Ward 3 and the residents of Edwardsville. She helped to complete many city projects and community initiatives in her 12 years of service before her recent retirement this past May of 2023.
Janet was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She always put others before herself and valued family and friends and their well-being more than anything else. Her life brought light, hope, guidance, and comfort to others in so many ways, yet her happiness was driven by caring for and ensuring the happiness of others. She is irreplaceable and words cannot express how much she meant to so many – She will be greatly missed.
