"I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid." -John 14:27
This scripture, taped to her mirror, greeted Janet Elizabeth Stuart every morning. They guided her daily life, and they offer us comfort now as we mourn her passing. Janet went home to the Lord unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, November 18, 2025, at the age of 67. She lived an exemplary life, shining light, offering love, and extending grace to everyone she met. Deeply devoted to God and to serving others, Janet's life was a testament to faith in action.
Born April 21, 1958, to Joanne and Nicholas Bach, Janet was one of eight siblings: Judy, Doug, Nick, Tom, Katie, Carolyn, and Barb. On May 21, 1988, she married her soulmate, Douglas Stuart, and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and faith. They raised three children-Chris, Andrew, and Carolyn-and welcomed Chris' wife, Lyzz, and Andrew's fiance, Genica, into the family with the same patient, gentle, and unwavering love Janet gave her own children. As a wife, mother, sister, and friend, Janet gave herself fully and freely.
We find comfort in knowing this is not goodbye forever; that one day, we will be reunited with her in Heaven.
It is impossible to fully capture the depth of the gift Janet was to the world. Her door was always open. Her hands were always creating something beautiful. She offered wisdom without judgment, forgave with ease, and saw the good in everyone. She put others before herself, living out her faith not just in words but in acts of kindness each and every day. Janet prayed faithfully, for those she loved, and even for those who misunderstood or wronged her. Her life was a living expression of God's love.
In the days ahead, as we feel her loss, let us walk in her example: loving generously, showing compassion without hesitation, and trusting in the peace that only God provides. Do not be troubled or afraid.
All are welcome to join us in celebrating Janet's extraordinary life.
