Janet Thorud Obituary
age 84 of Plymouth, formerly of Eagle Bend, passed away on June 23, 2021. Born on November 2, 1936 in Eagle Bend, MN to Matthew and Olga (Nelson) Pontius.
Devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who proudly worked as a real estate closer for more than 20 years with the Minneapolis Housing and Redevelopment Authority. She lived life to the fullest and traveled the world. She will be deeply missed by family, friends, and fellow church members.
Preceded in death by husband Norris Thorud Jr.; daughter Jennifer Kaufman; her parents; sisters Donna (Derald) Johnson, Loretta (Wayne) Olson, Virginia (Roger) Beach; brother David Pontius.
Survived by daughter Cynthia Pratt; grandson Joseph Aldrich; great-grandson Elias Rodriguez; step-children Edwin (Linda) Thorud, Judy Gengler, Daniel (Linda) Thorud, Richard Thorud; sister-in-law Helen Pontius; many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Service at 11 AM, Thursday, July 1 at Discover Church, 1400 81st Ave N, Brooklyn Park, MN. Visitation one hour prior. Memorials preferred to North Memorial Hospice Home Care.
