Janet E. Walczak age 83, of Meadville, passed away Wednesday evening December 24, 2025, in her residence.
She was born in Meadville on January 3, 1942, a daughter of Howard and Martha (Welling) Caldwell.
Janet was a 1959 Graduate of Meadville High School and on August 11, 1995, she married Theodore L. Walczack, he passed away on January 24, 2022.
She was employed at Talon as a Tabulator for 7 years and then worked as a cashier at Country Fair in Meadville for 25 years and was a scan coordinator at Quality Market for 25 years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, and especially attending her grandchildren’s activities.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Reformed Church and formerly taught Sunday school, was a choir member, and served on consistory.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Gordon and her husband John of Titusville son Robby, Lona Granda and her husband Ernie of Conneaut Lake daughter Nneka and husband Tyler sons Damein, Joseph Paul “J.P.’; two step daughters, Tracy Auell (Greg Zastawney) of Franklin daughters Lynsey, Natalie, Alaina, Kelli VanBeest and her husband Brad of Tucson, AZ children Jacob, Alexandra and her husband Anthony; four great grandchildren, Brinley, Alaska, Willow, and Martha; sister, Betty Bearce and her husband Roy of Cochranton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and infant brother, Howard Clayton Cladwell Jr.
Family and friends will be received in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE., on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 11:00 until the time of service. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the funeral home with Rev. Brian Hasenkopf, pastor of St. Paul’s Reformed Church, officiating. Burial with committal prayer will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
