Nancy Lee (Griggs) Norman, age 92, of Cambridge Springs passed away Monday morning February 16, 2026, in Juniper Village at Meadville.
She was born in Millersburg, Ohio on February 11, 1934, a daughter of Leland Carl Griggs and Marye Josephine Bainer. Following the death of her father at an early age, she and her mother moved to Meadville and made their home with her grandparents, John and Otelia Bainer. At the age of 12, she was fortunate to gain a new father, William A. DeArment.
She graduated from high school at Southern Seminary & Junior College in Buena Vista, VA. She married James Norman in 1952; they moved to Cambridge Springs and ran a bakery for many years.
Nancy was always active in outside interests, serving as secretary of PA Young Republicans, Cambridge Springs School Board, Home Rule Study Commission, Drafting a new charter for the Boro, 12 years on Boro Council, election board, and Chairman of the zoning hearing board. She also served as treasurer of the United Methodist Church and the Cambridge Springs Public Library for many years.
She was a member of the Venango Gospel of Christ Church.
She is survived by a son, Leland James Norman, of Meadville; a daughter, Lisa Anne Montgomery of Corpus Christi, TX; a brother, William S. DeArment and his wife Linda of Meadville; a sister, Suzanne B. DeArment of Meadville; five grandchildren, Curtis (Delanie), Molli Jane, Blake Norman and Lindsay and Lois Allisan Montgomery; three great grandchildren, Birdie Mae Norman, Mia Shay, and Briella Rae Pohlot.
She was preceded in death by her mother, two fathers, a sister Joan Bainer DeArment, and a dear life-long friend Linda Bates Chrisholm.
Family and friends will be received at ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY INC., 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE on Tuesday February 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of service. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday February 24, 2026, at 12:00 PM with Rev. Sarah Roncolato and Rev. Kendra Balliet, co officiating.
Nancy will be laid to rest at Greendale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cambridge Springs Public Library, 158 McClelland St., Cambridge Springs, PA 16403 or Venango Gospel of Christ Church 21472 Church St. Venango, PA 16440.
