Janet Walters, 89, of Edinburg, VA passed away March 15, 2026, at Winchester Medical Center. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 20, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Heishman Funeral Service in Woodstock. Pastor Buz Menhardt will officiate. Burial will take place at Charles Emerson Walters Cemetery in Fort Valley, VA.

She was born in Armstrong Co. PA., daughter of the late Glenn and Edna Ashbaugh Meyer. She was a member of the New Market Seventh Day Adventist Church.

She is survived by a son, Mitchell Walters of Edinburg, Va; 6 step-children, Richard Walters, Ronald Walters, Daniel Walters, Gary Walters, Terry Walters and Brenda Salisbury, all of West Virginia; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren all residing in West Virginia; sister, Joan Schall; three brothers, Larry Meyer, Floyd Meyer, and Ronald Meyer; and a number of nieces and nephews all residing in PA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Walters in 2015; one brother, Nelson Meyer; and one sister, Gloria Meyer Faber.
