On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, Michael Andrew Walters of Sedro-Woolley, Washington, passed away unexpectedly at his home. He was 41 years old.
Michael, known and loved by many as Mikey or Uncle Mikey, was born on September 18, 1984, in
Livingston, Montana, to his mother, Elizabeth Ann Walters.
Mikey was the kind of person who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was larger than life in the best way full of energy, quick to laugh, and never afraid to show up for the people he loved. His voice carried across rooms, fields, and gyms, and his unmistakable laugh was one no one could ever mistake for anyone else's.
Over the years, Mikey worked a variety of jobs, eventually earning his CDL and becoming a local truck driver. He later pursued his dream of working for himself and founded Mike's On Site, building something he took great pride in. Mikey believed deeply in hard work, but even more so in helping others-if someone needed a hand, he was often the first to offer it.
Sedro-Woolley became his home, and Mikey quickly became a beloved part of the community. His world revolved around his family, especially his children. He could always be found in the stands at their sporting events, cheering louder than anyone else. Mikey didn't just cheer for his own kids he cheered for every child out there, which is why so many young athletes came to know him as Uncle Mikey. His booming voice and joyful presence could be felt throughout the building.
Mikey loved camping with friends, spending time outdoors, and being part of the Sedro-Woolley wrestling family. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back, the kind of friend who showed up when it mattered most, and the kind of person who made everyone feel welcome. His heart was big, and his loyalty to those he loved ran deep.
As a father, Mikey was loving, proud, playful, and always present. He supported his children wholeheartedly and found great joy in being part of their lives.
On May 18, 2019, Mikey married the love of his life, Liz Marie Walters, in Mount Vernon, Washington. Together, they built a life centered on family, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Mikey was incredibly proud of his family and the life they created together.
Mikey is survived by his devoted wife, Liz Marie Walters; his children, Nalaiah Lois Walters (born 2008) and Dane Nicolas Walters (born 2010); his stepdaughter, Lucille Elizabeth Schulte (born 2008); his mother, Elizabeth Ann Walters; his grandmother, Susan Walters; his brother, Anthony Cervera; his beloved dogs, Blitzen and Ollie; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and countless kids who proudly called him Uncle Mikey.
Mikey's life was filled with laughter, loyalty, and love for the people around him. He leaves behind a space that cannot be filled and a community that will never forget the energy, kindness, and heart he brought into every room. Though the world feels quieter without him, his love and laughter will live on in the many lives he touched.
A Celebration of Mikey's life will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from noon to 4:00 PM at the Bakke Family Campground, 6180 Saxon Rd,
