Janet J. Wehinger
Age 96, of Monroe, died Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Aster Retirement Community. Janet was born on June 30, 1926 in Juda, the daughter of John and Letha (Block) Hiltbrand. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1943 and worked at First National Bank. She was united in marriage to Frank Wehinger on January 21, 1950 at St. Victor Catholic Church. Following her marriage, Janet was employed as a bookkeeper at Solomon Auto Parts in Monroe for 21 years. Janet and Frank farmed in Jefferson and Clarno Townships before moving into Monroe in 1970. She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church and enjoyed volunteering for the Apostolate to the Handicapped and at St. Vincent DePaul. Her great joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Janet is survived by two daughters, Kathy (Taryn) Nall of Oconto Falls, and Laura Webster of Fitchburg; four grandchildren, Jason (Katy) Nall, Josh (Melissa) Nall, Bryan (Kirsten) Webster, Dawn (Greg) Jastrow; eight great grandchildren, Emma and Josie Nall, Maverick and Everett Nall, Soren and Solie Webster, and Frank and Poppy Jastrow. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Frank, on July 31, 2009.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Clare of Assisi Parish and St. Victor Catholic Church, Monroe, with Father Tafadzwa Kushamba officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Monroe. Visitation will be at the church on Friday, May 12th, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in Janet's name for St. Victor Catholic Church. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family.
