Janet Wickens

Janet Ann Wickens Janet Ann Wickens, age 90, most recently of Dearborn, Michigan passed away at her daughter's home surrounded by family on Saturday, October 11, 2025. She was born to Mary Grace (Sacco) and Peter Rinaldo in Utica, New York on May 18, 1935. Janet graduated from Oneida High School in 1953 and went on to earn an associates degree from Mohawk Valley Community College in retail business management. On June 29th, 1957 she married and spent 63 wonderful years with the love of her life, Duane Arthur Wickens. She spent over 30 years working in the insurance business and retired as the personal lines supervisor from Burke, Powers, and Hardy of Bristol, Tennessee before retiring to Katy, Texas. As a retiree, Janet was involved in community organizations including Welcome Wagon, where her exceptional social skills helped others settle warmly into the Katy area and cultivate a vast network of friends. She had a keen eye for design and created beautiful cakes, crafts and spaces throughout her life. Janet was a loving mother and friend to many, and will be truly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband Duane, and her brother Peter Rinaldo. She is survived by her three children Ken (Bonnie) Wickens of Texas, Karen (Abdul) Abbas of Michigan, and David (Michelle) Wickens of Texas, sisters-in-law Linda (Bob) Kaska and Bonnie Rinaldo of New York, as well as ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two nieces, three nephews and their families.
