With love in our hearts, we remember the life of our beloved Nana, Janette Y. Mullinix, who passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025. Janette was born September 30, 1938 in Somerset, Kentucky and was the daughter of Glenna and Richard DePrato.

Janette found joy in life's simple treasures, gardening, morning prayers, and sharing stories with her grandchildren. Nana's home was always open, her hugs always healing, and her wisdom quietly guiding those around her. As the family saying goes, "What happens at Nana's, stays at Nana's."

Janette was preceded in death by her best friend and love of her life, Benny B. Mullinix and her cherished daughter, Elizabeth A. Mullinix, who was always watching over her with love and care.

She is survived by her devoted daughters, Nancy Reid (David Stone) and Teresa Apel (Robert). She shared a special bond with her son-in-law Robert, who stood beside her, gave her the care, companionship, and devotion that filled her final years with peace. Also survived by her four grandchildren who brought her great joy, Benjamin West, Laura Apel, Paige Apel, and Emily Bradford; and four great-grandchildren which she adored, Arayha West, Jayce West, Brody West, and Benny Bradford. Janette was the dear sister of Joyce Glass, Richard DePrato, the late Frank DePrato, Joseph DePrato, Donald DePrato, Mary DePrato Helton, and Lois DePrato Weddle.

A private family service will be held at her resting place in Somerset, Kentucky at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Matthew 25 Ministries OR Samaritan's Purse, both causes close to Janette's heart.
