Janette Jean Wehrer was called peacefully to heaven the morning of June 11, 2025, at the age of 55. Janette was born on July 12, 1969 to Diane and Doug Wall in Miles City, Montana. At the age of 4, Janette, her sister Jody and their Mom moved to Fort Morgan, Colorado. It was here that Diane met and married John Wehrer, who later adopted the girls, and he and Diane raised them in Eastern Colorado.
Janette's positive energy and fun spirit drew people to her throughout her life. Growing up, she especially enjoyed the large friend group she had from Columbine Elementary School and Deuel Street. Her family spent many summers fishing and waterskiing at Jackson Lake, which Janette absolutely loved. Janette also was a natural athlete. In 7th grade, at her very first basketball practice, she caught her coach's eye because she could dribble and handle the ball with both hands, with no prior coaching. She made that sport look so easy, sprinting and pivoting straight for the basket as a star player. She also was a track star in Jr. High, and to this day, Janette still holds sprinting and relay records at the Fort Morgan Middle School. Though school was far more a social event than academic for Janette, it was at Columbine, Fort Morgan Junior High and Fort Morgan High School that she made lifelong friends, and to this day is one of the most beloved classmates in the graduating class of 1987.
Late in high school, Janette's health was compromised, but it was also then that she met the love of her life, Rocky Bower. The two of them were nearly inseparable until his death in 2020. Throughout her life, Janette cared for her parents as their health deteriorated. Her love for her parents was undeniable, and she was there for their every need, and by their side until the end.
After John and Diane's passing, Janette lived with her lifelong best friend, Alix. In this time, they were able to travel to Las Vegas, Key West, Blackhawk, and spent every BobStock weekend together while also celebrating Janette's birthday. Janette was certain that this concert weekend in Fort Morgan was always a celebration of her birthday! She spent her final three years at the Courtyard Assisted Living Center in Loveland. Two days prior to her passing, while on their monthly pedicure/shopping "girl's day", she shared with Alix that she was so happy, that she no longer had to worry about anything, and she loved all of the activities, the food, the entertainment, and of course her dear roommate Renee.
Janette adored her siblings and their children. Her huge heart had enough love for all, and she was known as Aunt Nettie to the little ones. Janette never said a harsh word of others, she forgave easily and often, and was a light to all that were lucky enough to have had time with her. She was a child of God, and truly lived a life of nonjudgement, kindness, empathy and love for all.
Janette was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, her beloved niece Brianna Frahm, beloved great nephew Styles Frahm, the love of her life Rocky Bower, and her Aunts Donna, Janet and Susan.
She is survived by her sister Jody Hall, brother Gene (Cindy) Wehrer, niece Tanya (Justin) Koch, nephews Kevin (Tayler) Wehrer, Brandon Frahm, Austin Kroskob, and Alan Hall, as well as great nephews Karson Koch, Hudson and Jackson Wehrer and a great niece Ellie Koch. Aunts and Uncles include Carol Bramble, Bill (Teresa) Smith, Bob (Margaret) Smith and Bill Buckingham all of Montana, granddaughter of the heart Justice Bower, as well as her best friend group of Alix Keenan, Sonya Schwenke, Belinda Willis, Teresa Holland, Cindy Miller, Sherri Amen, and Robyn Hendershot.
A private family burial will be held. The family asks that any donations be sent to:
