Mrs. Janice Marie Alexander, 62, of Double Springs, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Freeman Hood Funeral Services has been entrusted with her care.
Jan enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and was lovingly known as Granny J. She was a jokester with a gentle soul and loved her dogs, Sammy & Lucy. You could usually find her somewhere outside enjoying the sunshine with a Dr. Pepper in hand.
Jan is preceded in death by her mother Jewel Loggins; and father Milton Loggins.
She is survived by her husband Joel Alexander; daughters Whitney Roper, Angela Roegner, and Holly Rice; sisters Mary Jane Tidwell and Louise Gaddy; grandsons Curt Salter, Karson Salter, Maverick Roper, Alexzander Roegner, Brandon Roegner, Skyler Rice, and Hunter Rice; granddaughter Brooklyn Rice; and niece Bre Johnson.
Pall Bearers will be Joel Alexander, Wayne Alexander, Louise Gaddy, Holly Rice, Hope Wright, and Angela Roegner.
Services: Visitation will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the Sam Hood Memorial Chapel, with funeral services following at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Williams Cemetery in Double Springs. Mark Turner will officiate.
