Janice Allen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 2, 2013.
ALLEN, Janice Clifton, 73 of Ashland City, passed away March 2, 2013. Janice's gift from God was her compassionate servants' heart. She was a devoted wife, proud mother, adoring Mammama, and loving sister. She brought great joy to her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all that she touched. Preceded in death by her parents Lela Mae (Wall) and Albert Clifton along with her second Mother Ruth "Tootsie" Clifton. Janice worked at State Industries for 41 years where she made many loyal friends. She also enjoyed all sports but especially loved watching basketball, baseball, or playing a round of golf with Terry. Her servants' heart led her to give back throughout her life through involvement in many community activities including Centre Star Chapter 342 Order of the Eastern Star and serving her Lord through her service as President of the United Methodist Women. But most of all, she cherished the time she was able to spend with family. She is survived by husband Terry; sons, Cliff (Krista) and Butch (Ginger) Eley, Chuck (Tammy) and David (Kimberly) Farmer; stepchildren, Terry (Duane) Bishoff, Scott (Tamara) Allen, Debby Flesner, and Becky (John) Frazier; grandchildren, Jim Eley, Brandon, Ann Katherine Eley Taylor and Madison Eley, Kasondra and Elizabeth Farmer, Clay Farmer, Houston and Hayley Newman, Dannah and Katelyn Roberts, Matthew, Brandon, and Zach Bishoff, Bradley and Carter Allen, Travis (Nikki) Flesner, Teresa (Jonathan) Bruns, Tara Flesner, and John Frazier. She is also survived by brother, James (Judi) Clifton; sisters, Patsy (Dennis) DeLemos and Martha Lynn (Darwin) Newton; brothers-in-law, Bob Allen (Carol) and Hicks (Donna) Allen; as well as by special friends Darlene Hamilton, Gloria Williams, and Maria Elliott. Visitation with the family will be Monday, March 4, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. with a celebration of her life service to follow at 2 p.m. at Cheatham County Funeral Home, 117 Elizabeth Street, Ashland City, TN 37015. Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Cemetery in Ashland City, TN. Serving as pallbearers will be Cris Clifton, Steven Clifton, Joe DeLemos, Sam DeLemos, Jim Eley, Brandon Eley, Clay Farmer, Houston Newman, Daniel Newton, and Bill Taylor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ashland City United Methodist Church in Ashland City. CHEATHAM COUNTY FUNERAL HOME, (615)792-2552.
