Janice Lynn Aversa, a sweet and gentle soul, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories for all who knew and loved her. Janice was predeceased by her parents, Elaine Aversa (née Zimmer) of Ridgefield, NJ, and Anthony Aversa of Tom's River, as well as her loving sister, Marie "Mickey" Casatelli, and brother-in-law, Robert (Bobby) Casatelli of Ridgefield, NJ. She is survived by her nieces, Kristen Gugliotta of Jacksonville, Florida (formerly of New Jersey) and her husband, Corrado, and Kerri Murphy of Virginia (formerly of New Jersey) and her husband Brandon. Janice's joy also lives on through her adoring great-nieces, Luna, Lyla, and Sofia Rae, and her great-nephew, Michael. Janice found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved to dance, listen to music-especially the voices of Barry Manilow and Lionel Richie. She loved meals from Burger King, and shared her deep affection for animals. Her kindness and innocence touched everyone she met. In her later years, Janice lived in a group home in Lodi, NJ where she was cared for with love and compassion. She will be deeply missed by her family and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
