Cosmo Aversa Obituary
It is with heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Cosmo Frank Aversa Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend whose legacy of love, generosity, and resilience will remain forever etched in the hearts of those who knew him. Born in Italy to Michael Aversa and Rosa Panetta, Cosmo immigrated to America through Ellis Island at just 15 years old. From that moment, he embraced the spirit of the American dreamnever afraid of hard work and always deeply proud of his Italian roots. He built a life with his beloved wife Emma, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable meals, which he never missed. Sometimes he helped prepare food such as sausage, pasta, and traditional pastries, that connected generations to their heritage. A man of many passions, Cosmo was a lifelong lover of soccerplaying, refereeing, and watching with devotion. He found joy in playing Italian cards, bowling, hunting, swimming, dancing, but nothing surpassed the joy of being surrounded by family. Whether working in his garden, making his own wine, or simply taking one of his most recent daily walks, often to the grocery store, Cosmo lived each day with purpose. He believed in action and thrift, often saying:"Dont put off for tomorrow what you can do today,""Save your money for a rainy day,""There is always a way"And when asked how he was doing hed say"Im hanging in there." Resourceful to his core, he was the true embodiment of a helperalways ready with a smile, a tool, or even the shirt off his back. His hands built more than homes through his work in construction and truckingthey built a family grounded in strength and tradition.Cosmo is survived by his cherished wife Emma, and their four loving children: Michael, Suzette and her husband Jim, Alcyon and her husband Mark, and Cosmo Jr. and his wife Joana.
