Born: June 10, 1941 in Berwyn, IL
Died: July 13, 2025 in Barrington, IL
Janice Avonts, age 84 of McHenry, passed away peacefully July 13, 2025. Born June 10, 1941, in Berwyn, to parents Frank and Ruth Hlava. Loving wife of the late Ronald Avonts. Devoted mother to Pamela (Daniel) Milam, and Steven (Debbie) Avonts. Cherished grandmother to Danny (Michelle) Milam, Katie (Nick) Komes, Matthew (Allison) Avonts, Brittany (Marcus) Lehman, and Ryin Avonts. Adored great-grandmother to Austin, Madison, Maeven, Josephine and Isabelle. Dear sister to Paul (Marge) Hlava. Janice married Ronald on September 12, 1959 and moved to Crystal Lake IL, in 1975. They started their family, and raised two wonderful children. Janice owned and operated 'Shear Artistry' for 29 years. She was a skilled hairdresser for over 45 years. Later in life she enjoyed traveling and having new experiences. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed painting and designing beautiful murals in her free time. The light she brought to the world will be remembered, and she will be deeply missed. A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, July 25, 2025 at Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Dr. McHenry IL from 10:00am-1:00pm.
