Mrs. Janice Huddleston Bailey, a homemaker of the Dixon Springs Community, who only saw the best in people, peacefully entered eternity at 12:02 a.m. Monday morning December 22, 2025 at the Smith County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage where she had resided only since December 19th where she was residing because of difficulty in balance and the ability to ambulate. The 66-year-old Mrs. Bailey was under the care of Gentiva Hospice of Livingston.
Mrs. Bailey was at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home and to fulfill her request to be cremated, that will be performed at the Cumberland Family Services in Algood. Memorial services will be conducted for the family at a later date.
She was one of four children of the late Clarence Neal Huddleston who died April 27, 2010 at the age of 88 and Amelia Bell Thompson Huddleston who died June 10, 2007 at the age of 72 and was born Janice Carol Huddleston in Carthage on January 8, 1959.
A sister, Glenda Gayle Huddleston Adams died as a result of cancer on February 22, 2022 at the age of 70.
Mrs. Bailey attended Smith County High School through the eleventh grade.
Having been saved at an early age, she attended the Carthage Church of God in South Carthage.
She is survived by a daughter, Shwanda Bailey of Detroit, Michigan; son, Taurus Bailey also of Detroit; sisters, Anna Huddleston Bailey of Cookeville; brother, Butch Huddleston and wife Jean Thomas Huddleston of the Chestnut Mound Community; longtime companion of over nineteen years, Walter Murray of the Dixon Springs Community; father of her children, Ben Bailey of Detroit, Michigan.
