Janice Marie (Taylor) Browder was born November 28th, 1941, in Ramer, TN. She married Danny Neal Browder on December 23rd, 1959, and they were married for fifty-four years.
Jan spent many years working for the Board of Education as the manager of the Selmer Junior High School and later in the main office. She began her twenty-nine-year career at Walmart when the store opened in Selmer. She never met a stranger, loved people and a good laugh. A wonderful cook, she was always happiest when cooking for the ones she loved. If you were lucky enough to enjoy some of her cooking, you know it was a treat.
She spent her last years in Little Rock to be closer to her daughter Kim, as she battled Alzheimer's. Angel wings were given on December 26th, 2024. She is preceded in death by her husband Danny Browder, and two sisters, Bess Cook and Glenda Armstrong. Survivors include her daughter Kim Downer and husband Grant; grandchildren Nick McCarthy and wife Becca, and Megan McCarthy; a brother, Robert Kinchen and wife Deborah; a sister, Rhonda Mooney and husband Steve; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers please donate to Jan's favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
