Joe William Browder, 91, a lifelong resident of Cleburne, Texas, peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by his family, on February 28, 2026 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease. Joe was born to John Altee and Mary Lee Browder on May 21, 1934 in Cleburne, Texas. He graduated from Cleburne High School before attending and graduating from North Texas State University, where he was a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Joe enlisted in the United States Army on January 17, 1957. After completing his service, he married the love of his life, Iris Anne Harris, beginning a beautiful marriage that would span 67 years. He went on to enjoy a distinguished career as Vice President of National Account Sales at Rangaire Corp, where he worked for 43 years.

His family will remember him as an avid golfer; he even achieved a hole in one - a moment he and his family never forgot. Joe, or as his grandchildren called him, "Pops", was a quiet man who always knew exactly what to say to make people laugh with his dry humor, and was a man of deep and steady faith. Joe never lost his sense of humor and never complained - about his disease or anything in life. He valued faith, family, integrity, and service to his community. To his children, he was so strong and supportive, always making sure they felt loved and encouraged. To his wife, he was loving, caring, and devoted, making it a priority to share laughter and joy every day.

Joe's love of life was simple and sweet. He was always ready for a malt at Braum's or a root beer float, happily sharing those small joys with family and friends. He enjoyed golf and taking family trips to Colorado. His commitment to service extended beyond his family. Joe was a past member and leader in many community activities. He served as past President of Kiwanis, past President of the Deacon Board at Cleburne Bible Church where he served as an Elder, and past President of the Buffalo Creek Association for nine years, where he enjoyed seeing the community grow. He was instrumental in the General Pat Cleburne statue project, helping preserve and honor the city's history.

Diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2013, Joe faced his illness with quiet strength, unwavering faith, and remarkable grace, never once complaining. He attended Paulie Ayala's Punching Out Parkinson's boxing classes in Fort Worth twice weekly since 2015 with his late brother, Jack. Together, they encouraged one another and drew strength from their shared journey. Joe was especially blessed by the faithful men from his church who drove him to classes, and our family is deeply grateful for their kindness and service. The program not only helped Joe physically, but truly strengthened and encouraged him throughout his battle with Parkinson's disease.

Joe is survived by his wife, Iris; his children: Scott Browder, Leanne (Allan) Loose, and Rebecca (Jason) Oefinger; six grandchildren: Aaron (Leah) Loose, Garrett (Danielle) Loose, Collin (Phoebe) Oefinger, Annie Oefinger, Elliott Oefinger, and Emma Oefinger; and four great-grandchildren: Meyer Loose, Merritt Loose, Lilah Loose, and Brody Oefinger. He is also survived by his sister, Betty (Richard) Lee; his brother Jim (Lanette) Browder; and his sisters-in-law: Sylvia Browder, Sherilyne Galle, and Pat Browder, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, J.A. and Mary Lee Browder, and his brothers, Johnny and Jack Browder. He touched the lives of all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

Please join us celebrating his life Saturday morning, March 28, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. Cleburne Bible Church, 930 N. Nolan River Rd, Cleburne, TX 76033. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cleburne Bible Church or Punching Out Parkinson's.
