Janice Lee Carmichael

Janice Gaile Lee Carmichael, 76, of Lake City, FL, formerly of Manor passed away Wednesday morning, April 23, 2025, at HCA FL Lake City Hospital after an extended illness. She was born in Homerville to the late Johnnie Wilson Lee and Lula Odelle Young Lee. Mrs. Carmichael was a graduate of Clinch County High School and worked many years as a Paraprofessional in the Clinch County School System and at Ware County Magnet School. She was a member of New Prospect Community Church and always enjoyed sewing, reading, and was an avid audio book listener.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carey Duncan Carmichael, Sr; infant sister, Martha Anne Lee; two brothers, Truman Lee and Allen Lavelle Lee.
Survivors include two sons, Carey Duncan Carmichael, Jr. and John Kevin Carmichael both of Lake City, FL; one brother, Donald Lee (Sheila) of Homerville; a special niece and her family, Sandi, Claude, and Cameron Aldridge of Waycross; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; two special cats, Gizmo and Izzy.
A funeral service will be held Monday afternoon, April 28, 2025, at 2 pm at Victory Methodist Church in Manor. Burial will follow in New Prospect Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday beginning at 1 pm at Victory Methodist Church.
