Ms. Heather Carmichael, 53, of Swainsboro, GA, passed away at the Community Hospice in Vidalia, GA on March 8, 2026.

Heather was born in 1972 in Swainsboro, GA. She attended Swainsboro High School and later worked there for many years as the Cafeteria Manager. She loved watching and rooting for her Georgia Bulldogs. She had a deep love for animals, her pets, and even ones that wandered to her home were treated like her own. She enjoyed fishing, napping, traveling to the mountains, sibling shenanigans, but mostly time spent with her family. She had a weakness for Reese’s Cups.

She is survived by her parents, Billy and Linda Carmichael, her siblings, Doug Carmichael, Jason Carmichael, and Chandra Carmichael (Tracy) Hooks, a son, Damian Johnson, five grandchildren, niece, Millie (Gannon) Thompson, nephews, Cody Carmichael, Kyle Carmichael (Kelsey Stavely), and Gage Hooks (Gracie Gibbs), and her beloved dog and cat, Lilly and Chloe.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Chapman Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Honorary pallbearers will be her School Nutrition family.

The family will receive friends at the home of Tracy and Chandra Hooks in Nunez, GA.
