Janice Choiniere

Janice Choiniere, 76, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Punta Gorda on the morning of Sunday August 31st after a battle with cancer. Her memorial service will be held Monday September 8th at 11:00 am in Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in Port Charlotte.

Janice was born on September 19th, 1948 in Fall River, MA. She was the daughter of John and Alice Leonardo, and the older sister of Michael. She attended Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts, where she met Ron. They were married in 1970 and had 55 years together.

After graduation she began a four-plus decade career in education, starting out as a history teacher. Upon the family's move to Florida, she switched to teaching and art and practice of writing. She touched many lives over the course of her career. Upon her retirement, she was gifted tributes from colleagues and students alike. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Janice is survived by her husband Ron and son Justin.
