Janice Cillie Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors - Islands Chapel on Jun. 15, 2024.
Janice "Nannie" Cillie (nee Kudley), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Married for 63 wonderful years to her devoted husband, John Cillie Sr, better known as Opa. She is survived by her husband, daughter (Sheila Sullivan), son (John Jr.), her brothers (Robert and John Kudley) and her 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Bertha and John and her sister Pat.
Nannie's life was a tapestry of adventures and heartfelt moments. She traveled far and wide, from the icy landscapes of Alaska to the historic streets of Berlin, always finding joy in new experiences and the company of loved ones.
Nannie's heart was her family, and her grandchildren were her world. She was the embodiment of happiness, never allowing sadness to linger around her. Birthdays were celebrated with her heartfelt calls, making everyone feel special and loved. Her baking skills filled her home with the sweet aroma of her secret recipes, and her spontaneous food fights brought laughter and joy to the faces of her grandkids, with her smile always even bigger than theirs.
Her love for travel saw her through numerous trips, where she embraced the world with open arms and a joyful spirit. Her stories of adventure and resilience, from climbing mountains to winning at the dog track in Miami, were legendary. Nannie's life was a beautiful journey, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering positivity. Though she has left us, her spirit remains, reminding us to cherish every moment.
With Nannie, there's never a goodbye; we will talk to you soon. Over and out.
A funeral will be at 2:00, Wednesday, June 19th, at Fox & Weeks Islands Chapel, and a graveside committal at 11:00, Thursday, June 20th in the family cemetery in Hawkinsville, Georgia
